Guy "Buddy" Tabor
Guy "Buddy" Tabor died Feb. 5, 2012. He was 63
He was born March 12, 1949, in Roanoke, Va., where he grew up.
He first came to Alaska in 1967, where he worked for the U.S. Post Office, for the
Alaska Railroad and on the TransAlaska oil pipeline. He and his wife
Jeannette moved to Juneau in 1977. He was recently retired after working for
many years as a self-employed housepainter. Over his lifetime Buddy had a
highly productive career as a singer-songwriter who produced and released
nine albums and wrote hundreds of original songs. .
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife
Jeannette, his sons Joshua and Jesse, his sisters Ann Carol Light, Barbara
Yvonne Tabor Flora, Judy Rae Tabor, Margaret Tabor Armstrong and numerous
nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be on Saturday, Feb. 11, at 1 p.m. at the Cathedral of
the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in downtown Juneau, followed by a
potluck reception upstairs in the Parish Hall next door.
