Harold "Pete" Monette passed away on February 22, 2013, in Puyallup Wash. Pete was born in Sparta, Wisconsin on March 2, 1941, to Francis and Hope Monette. Pete and Miriam moved their family to Juneau, Alaska in 1970, where they raised three children: Carrie Raie, Scott, and Aaron. Pete worked as a carpenter and a commercial fisherman while in Alaska. After he retired he enjoyed fishing recreationally, taking his wife, family, and friends to his secret fishing spots. He enjoyed competing for the biggest fish with his wife, grandson, parents, or anyone up for the challenge. He was happiest with a fishing pole in his hand, and his wife and dog at his side.

Pete loved Juneau, and always considered himself a true Alaska. He enjoyed being a long time member of the Moose Lodge # 700 and charter member of the Juneau Eagles Aerie # 4200. He loved to go on road trips throughout Alaska and the Yukon visiting friends and family. In his later years, he became very fond of the time he and Miriam spent traveling and spending time in Packwood, Washington.

Pete will be remembered for his generosity to friends and family, his ornery sense of humor, and thoughtfulness.

Pete was preceded in death by his wife Miriam, his son Scot, and his parents. He is survived by his children Carrie Raie Brawley (Jeff) and Aaron Monette, Sisters Janice Pease (Terry) and Carolyn Pennington (Clark), Brother Gary Monette (Pam), eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, his beloved do and best friend Toby, as well as many close friends.

Donations in his memory may be made to the local Humane Society.
