July 16, 1987 – July 18, 2015

Jacob was born in Juneau, Alaska to Mark and Debbie Lewis. He is a 2005 graduate of Juneau Douglas High School and attended Portland Community College. He pursued a career through an electrical apprenticeship with Auke Bay Electric and at the time of his passing was a licensed commercial journeyman electrician for Anchor Electric. Jake loved being a key factor in the accomplishments of the individual owners or businesses of his employers for projects large or small. He had a strong work ethic and a desire for continuing education in his chosen field.

His favorite things to do in life were making plans for his next adventure, being successful in his endeavors, working on cars, hunting, fishing, snow machining and jet boating. He was a walking example of what it meant to live life every day to the fullest with the wilds of Alaska as his backyard.

Jake has a large extended family which provided love and encouragement to him since the first day of his life. He entertained his family members on a daily basis with humor and actions that thoroughly endeared him to us. His entire immediate family took great joy in helping raise him and sharing the love.

Living here in Juneau enabled immediate family to extend far beyond the small family unit as Jake shared his life with truly caring aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, great grandparents, close family friends and the special bond with his nieces and nephew. The love was there regardless of the fact if those in his life were blood relatives or related through some marital status or relationship because love weaved a thread through all of it and the family continues to receive an outpouring of love from all of them.

But that's not all. Here in Juneau, once he stepped outside the extended family, he entered a very unique community where the definition of family gets stretched and the family circle gets much larger with a loving bond to dear and special friends. Genuinely caring and loving people live in this community like no other the family has ever known and Jake was able to share in that and be a part of this with his friends and so many others where their paths crossed during his 28 years of life.

He is survived by his mother Debbie Lewis, father Mark Lewis and sister Jessica Fuller (Steve), nieces Lily and Chloe, and nephew Easton, grandparents Eldon and Evelyn Lewis, Donna Colvin, Jack and Betty Wray.

Other relatives include aunts and uncles, Susan and Eric Endicott, Jeff and Christine Wray, John and Trish Wray, Beverly and Paul Harker, Lisa and Haynes Tormey, Joe and Lori Croteau, Annie and Mike Marion, Alan Lewis, Terry and Tonya Lewis and Diana Walter. He is also survived by a multitude of cousins and other relatives within the extended family.

A well attended celebration of Life was held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Elizabeth Peratrovich Hall in Juneau, Alaska.

Jacob will be remembered as someone who lived big doing exactly what he loved and cared deeply for his family and friends. He always had a smile on his face and a helping hand to offer to anyone who needed him. To his friends he was the life of the party and to his family he was love unending.
