James Henry Hanson (1943 - 2011)


James Henry Hanson died at home on June 23, 2011 after fighting complications from a stroke in 2007.
Hanson was born in Whitefish, Mont. in 1943. He moved to Juneau in 1974 and worked at Foss Alaska Lines and Coastal Helicopters. At the time of his death, he co-owned Coastal Fuel.
His mother Emma Hanson; father Rudy Hanson and brothers Richard, Rudy and Jackie Hanson preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife Joann; daughters Roxanne Thomas and Gracey Farahbakhsh; sons Edward and James Hanson; sisters Eileen Bredstrand, Florence Delong and Elizabeth Wiggens and many other family members.
Services will be held Friday at Valley Church, 9741 Mendenhall Loop Road. A meal will follow, guests may bring a pie if they wish.
