Jane Kathleen Goodrum, age 60, died Friday, July 28, 2017, in her home in Tacoma, WA from natural causes. Ms. Goodrum was born January 22, 1957 and grew up in Tacoma when her parents moved there in 1961. Jane graduated from Stadium High School in Tacoma. She continued her education studies and finished an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts at Tacoma Community College. She loved to travel to Alaska and often spent several months visiting friends and family. Her smile, irrepressible spirit and sense of adventure will be missed. Her vocation was cook and chef. She enjoyed many summers working at the Puyallup Fair and at Alaska's Salmon Bake. She learned to knit with her maternal grandmother, Yettie Thornbury, and many were the recipients of her works of art.
Jane is survived by her son, Nicholas Guerry Goodrum, of Tacoma; brothers, Timothy Goodrum, Monty Compton, Guerry Goodrum and James Goodrum, and sisters, Frances Compton and Shelley Compton, as well as her cherished nieces, nephews and grandnieces. Ms. Goodrum was preceded in death by her fiancé, Michael Bennett; her mothers Charlotte Ann Mann and Coila Jane Cooney, and her father, James Goodrum.
