Janet (Meeks) Constantine
Janet Constantine was born Janet Alice Meeks on June 12, 1942 to William and Gertrude Meeks. She died on December 30, 2014 at home with her family by her side.

The second youngest of seven brothers and sisters, Janet grew up on the water, fishing, crabbing and boating in rural Anne Arundel County, Baltimore, Maryland. Janet lived in Baltimore in her early years and moved to Juneau, Alaska in 1974.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother; she loved her family and always put others first! She left her legacy of a loving, caring, positive spirit with her family.

An avid fisher woman, known as the "halibut queen of the family", she loved fishing, crabbing and being on the water. Janet and her husband Carl helped launch the Coast Guard's annual Juneau Senior Christmas dinner back in 1974. She worked as an accountant in Baltimore, and continued working in the private sector and with various departments in the State of Alaska in Juneau.

Janet Alice Constantine is survived by her husband of 42 years Carl W. Constantine; her son Gary Zepp (wife-Cheri Zepp); her grandson Bryan Zepp (wife-Rachel Zepp and great grand-daughter June Zepp); brother Richard Meeks (wife-Nancy Meeks); sister Irene Ross (deceased husband-William Ross); sister Arlene Somers (husband-James Somers); and over 20+ nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother William and Gertrude Meeks; her beloved son Mark Zepp; her brothers Gordon Meeks and his wife Betty; and William Meeks, Jr.

The Constantine and the Zepp families would like to especially thank Hospice and Home Care of Juneau. This group of dedicated, caring folks provided great comfort and care to Janet and to the family during a very difficult time. Heartfelt thanks to Ila Little, Cathy Carter, Lisa Brendle, Kayann Stone, Hans Snyder, Leslie Holzman, and Kelly Pajinag.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest donations to the Hospice and Home Care of Juneau, a wonderful organization. The next time you think about a charity donation, please consider your hometown Hospice and Home Care of Juneau!

A memorial service will be held for family and friends at 2 pm on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Church of the Nazarene, 3220 Mendenhall Loop Road, Juneau, AK 99801.
