Jim Cameron 12/11/1929 to 12/28/2014
Jim was born in Juneau, Alaska to Curly and Nancy Cameron, December 11, 1929 and spent his youth hunting and fishing the local woods and waterways . By 16, Jim had worked commercial fishing, commercial truck driving, the Alaska Highway construction, and for Alaska Coastal Airlines.
Jim was 17 when he entered the military serving in the US Army's 82nd Air Born Infantry from 1947 to 1951. While stationed at Fort Bragg North Carolina, he met and married Thelma whom he cherished until losing her to cancer 40 years later.
Jim founded Cameron Plumbing and Heating in 1974. He served awhile as business agent for the Plumbers Local 262 .
Jim was an active member of the Juneau Church of Christ where he served as a deacon, mentored youth, and kept the children well supplied with candy.
In 1994, Jim married his second wife, Carolyn, with whom he spent 20 years in joyful companionship.
Jim is preceded in death by his brother David, sister Phyllis, and wife Thelma. He is survived by his wife Carolyn and his children- Don Cameron, Richard Cameron and Linda Sio as well as his grandchildren Levi Fuiava, Jason Cameron, Justin Cameron and Paige Sipniewski.
Funeral Services will be at 2 pm at Juneau Church of Christ, 8755 Trinity Drive.
Visitation will be 5-8 pm, Wednesday, January 7 at Alaskan Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jim Cameron Memorial Fund For Children at Wells Fargo
