Joan Bridget Dahl
Former Juneau resident Joan B. Dahl, 89, passed away peacefully on Oct 25th 2011 at St. Peters Providence Hospital in Olympia, Washington. She was born in Burlington, Washington on November 27, 1921 to Herbert and Mata Smith. She married Craig O. Dahl of Edison, Washington on June 20th, 1946.
Prior to moving to Lacey, Washington 12 years ago, Joan and Craig lived in Kihei, Maui, Hawaii for the first 15 years of retirement after living and working in Juneau for 21 years. Joan retired from the State of Alaska Department of Commerce where she was a personnel officer. She enjoyed many return visits to Juneau and took pride in her beautiful yard and gardens in Hawaii and Lacey.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Craig and Leslie Dahl of Juneau, daughter Jane Dahl of Lacey, Washington, grandchildren Kristin Dahl and husband Jake Gundersen of Portland, Ore., Keoki Dahl of Lacey, Wash., and Jason Cameron of Juneau; and great granddaughter Bibi Brown of Bellingham, Wash.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband Craig Dahl and grandson Timothy Dahl.
