Judith Lee Minor, 69, passed away December 5, 2012, in Warsaw, Missouri.
Judy lived in Juneau from 1980 to 1999 where she enjoyed some of the best years of her life. She worked for Capital Office Supply during her first few years in Juneau, and later had her own interior design business, Minor Improvements. She loved the unique and rugged beauty of SE Alaska, and never once complained about the rain. She had many interests, but chief among them was her participation in her church, the First Church of Christ Scientist, of which she was a lifelong member.
Judy was born to Clyde and Olive Tompkins on October 4, 1943, in Tomah, Wisconsin. Her primary childhood home was in Kansas City, Missouri, and her longer term married homes before Juneau were in Missoula, Montana and Lindstrom, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John in 1995. She is survived by her son Eric Minor of Gig Harbor, WA, and daughter Amy Moritz of Houston, TX, and grandchildren Andrea and Alex Moritz of Houston. She is also survived by three brothers, Tom and Ken Tompkins both of Raymore, MO, and Greg Tompkins of Davenport, FL, and two sisters, Donna Reems of Australia and Elaine Robb of Warsaw, MO. A memorial service will take place Saturday, Dec. 15, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Loch Lloyd Country Club in Belton, MO. Eric Minor may be contacted at 3467 Edwards Drive, Gig Harbor, WA, 98335.
