A thirty-year resident of Juneau, Lauren (Laurie) was born in Rochester,
New York, on September 5, 1955 and died in Valdez, Alaska
on January 3, 2013, at the age of 57. She is the daughter of Wayne
Swift (deceased) and Joan Swift of Edmonds, Washington. Laurie
attended Skyline High School in Oakland, California, the University of
California at Davis, and held a B.S. degree from California State
University, Chico. She was employed by the State of Alaska Health and
Social Services and later for Alaska State Fish and Game from which
she was retired. She is survived by her mother, Joan, one sister, Lisa
Swift, of Puyallup, Washington, a nephew Andrew Ren, and a niece
Mia Ren.
