Mabel Kathryn McLean Reddekopp, died peacefully, July 21 2012 in Juneau, Alaska. She was born September 20,1915 in Oseola, Wisconsin to James Isaac McLean and Eva Matilda Johanna Larsen. Her family moved to Oregon, when Mabel was young, to continue farming. Mabel was one of 10 children.
She married Elwood William Reddekopp on October 5, 1935 and had three children, Stanley, Dwain and Nancy. Mabel and the children arrived in Juneau, April 28, 1947, following Elwood, who had searched Alaska for a spot to raise mink. Mink farming was not profitable and Elwood turned to carpentry.
Mabel worked for the Federal government in Juneau for 21 years. Elwood died January 20, 1987. Son Stanley died March 20, 2003.
Mabel completely lost her sight due to strokes in December 2003 and daughter Nancy was her constant companion until her death.
She is survived by son Dwain (Carolyn) and daughter Nancy Reddekopp, grandchildren include Joe Reddekopp (Teresa), Cindy Reddekopp, Nathan Reddekopp (Keli), Glendi Gaddis, Mike Reddekopp, Kate Berggren (Eric), Gayle Atwell (Todd), Nikki McLaughlin (Luke). Great grandchildren, Wayne Reddekopp, Ryan and Katelyn Reddekopp, Jacob Reddekopp, Mallory Lynch, Parker and Peyton Gaddis, Bradly and Emily Atwell and Ellee Crouse. Great great grandchildren Lorelai and Daniel Reddekopp.

Services for Mabel will be Saturday, August 4, 2012, 2:00pm at the Chapel by the Lake.
