Marcella Bush Smith passed away November 4, 2015 in Odessa TX following a short battle with cancer.
Marcie was born in Rupert Idaho to John and Rosa Bush, the youngest of four children and only daughter. She spent her childhood in Sacramento CA, spending summers with extended family in Idaho. Her family later moved to Mobile Alabama where Marcie attended high school, graduating from Bishop Toolen Catholic High School.
Shortly after graduation, Marcie married Dale Smith and they began their family, eventually having six children. As a Coast Guard family, they moved often, living in Texas, Cordova and Juneau Alaska, New Jersey, and Boston MA, before settling back in Juneau in 1972. There Marcie worked as the bookkeeper for Lyle's Hardware and Furniture from 1975-1984. She enjoyed living in Alaska, especially the opportunities to see wildlife, and the Alaska scenery. Marcie was diagnosed with MS in 1978, but did not let it slow her down or keep her from enjoying life. After retirement, Marcie and Dale began spending more time "down south" eventually buying a second home in Fort Stockton TX. They enjoyed travelling in their RVs, especially the opportunity to see family all across the United States. Marcie especially enjoyed any opportunity to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
Marcie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rosa Bush, and her brother, Jan Bush, and her son Christopher Dale Smith.
