Obituary Notice
Margaret Elaine Mason Dindinger

Margaret Elaine Mason Dindinger, who was born September 18, 1926, has given her family hopes of greater longevity as she peacefully passed away while visiting one of her daughter's in Montana, on November 8, 2011; at the age of 85. She was a strong woman who will be missed by all those who knew her – not just her family. Margaret led a happy, joy-filled life centered on service. Her extended family was always her priority and she made countless willing sacrifices to ensure their happiness.

In January 1946, a young Merchant Marine, Marvin William Dindinger, married her in Spokane, WA. They later traveled to Salt Lake City, UT to seal their vows in the LDS Temple. Their marriage was the happiest 43 years of her life. She is with him once again, after a 22 year separation; leaving behind all four of their children – Michael Dindinger (Carole); Robert Dindinger (Lisa); Judi Topham (Orvin); and Kris Timothy (Randy).

Margaret's 17 grandchildren include: Robert Dindinger (Jocelyn); Julie Saiz; Anna Dindinger; Kelli Dindinger; Marcus Dindinger (Hyun Jung); Shane Timothy; Darren Dindinger (Tricia) Kimberlee Cole (Matt); Tara Toomer (Mica); Krista Dindinger; Scott Timothy (Sarai); Jennifer Topham; Jonathan Dindinger; Jared Topham; Edward Dindinger; Mary Dindinger; and Gabrielle Dindinger. At the time of her passing, she had 24 great grand children: Zachary, Matthew, Maya, Erin, Madalyn, Grace, Daniel, Mathew, Domonic, Andrew, Savannah, Kassandra, Leandra, Alexandra, Conner, Amara, Sophia, Drake, Reese, Lucy, Jack, Neeva, Isabelle, Marin. She also had 3 great, great grandchildren: Melody, Dominique, and Deziha.

There have been approximately 1400 foster children over the years to call her Aunt Margaret; many who filtered thru the Juneau Receiving Home where she made a significant difference. They are all part of her extended family, as are the numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives here and throughout the US. She is also survived by uncles Leonard Buckley (Sandy) and Bud Buckley (Darlene) and siblings Jack Mason (Arlene), Charles Mason (Winnifred), Lucile Tidwell and Joan Kellen (Pat).

For 21 years until her 80th birthday, she greeted and served weary travelers from around the world at Grandma's Feather Bed. In her last years she enjoyed nothing better than visits from friends and family – listening to triumphs and troubles as she encouraged them with her ready genuine praise and optimism.

She taught her children the value of a good education and work ethic; garnering real satisfaction seeing them and their families prosper. She was blessed as she served in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; having special affinity for the youth and the challenges they face. She taught by example and will long be remembered for her welcoming smile, unique sense of humor and wit, ready praise and genuine gratitude, a willingness to listen and provide thoughtful counsel; but most of all her charitable heart.

Margaret's funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; starting at 3:00 pm. Please Join her children, friends and other family to remember a remarkable woman whose life touched so many.
