Prim was born on the family farm in Nova Scotia, Canada on August 31, 1924. She was the eldest daughter of Alfred Manning and Marjorie (Neily) Jackson's nine children. Her husband Ed (Ervin David Wright) served in the Royal Canadian Air Force with her eldest brother who introduced them during a furlough from their base in Newfoundland. After the end of the war, Prim and Ed married in Nova Scotia on April 19, 1946 and moved to Juneau later that year. On January 20, 1961 she became a naturalized United States citizen. Prim was an active member of Northern Light United Church where she taught Sunday school for many years and was a member of Pioneers of Alaska. As her family grew, she was involved in many school and scouting activities. Prim was a member of the Bartlett Hospital Guild for over 20 years and spent many years volunteering in the hospital gift shop. She was awarded Volunteer of the Year upon her retirement from the Guild.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ed in 1993, her parents and two older brothers.
Prim is survived by her children Patricia (Gary) Klockenteger of Mercer Island, WA; Donna (Ken) Gemperline of Denver, CO; Bob (Kris) Wright and Bill (Lisa) Wright of Juneau; grandchildren Kate, Tim, Scott and Libby Gemperline, Kelsey Klockenteger, and Jessica and Megan Wright; three brothers and three sisters, all in Nova Scotia; and many nieces and nephews.
At Prim's request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, remembrances are suggested to the Bartlett Hospital Guild, 3260 Hospital Drive, Box J-3, Juneau, Alaska 99801.
