"Myriam was known in Juneau as Myriam Swanson, married to Larry Swanson from about 1949-1960. We lived in the Auke Bay Area and on Fritz Cove Road. Larry was a commercial king salmon fisherman and passed away in 1986 here in Juneau. Myriam has two daughters… my sister Dottie Poling now lives in Haines Alaska. I, Judy Powers, live here in Juneau Alaska."

Pittsboro, MS – Myriam Alley, 97, passed away December 17, 2017 at the Veterans Home in Oxford, MS after a lengthy illness. She was born February 16, 1920 in Tacoma, Washington to the late parents of Joseph Guilford Wescott and Rebekah Torgersen Wescott; Memorie was also preceded in death by her husband Bro. Ira Alley. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist church. Memorie served her country in The U.S. Army during WWII.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Powers of Juneau, Alaska and Dottie Poling of Haines, Alaska; many grandchildren, great grandchildren; nieces and nephews around the country.
Visitation was held on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and the funeral service was at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Bro. Dwight Brown officiating. Burial was in Old Town Cemetery with Military Honors in Bruce, Mississippi.
Funeral services entrusted to Parker Memorial Funeral Homes.
