Nicandro Abella Saceda (1946 - 2011)


Nicandro Abella Saceda
Nicandro Abella Saceda died Sept. 19, 2011, at the age of 65.
He was born in Cebu City, Philippines in 1946. He graduated college from
Cebu Institute of Technology before moving to Alaska with his wife in 1972.
He was employed with the state of Alaska from 1973 until he retired in 2003, and he
served in the National Guard until he retired in 2006.
He is survived by his wife, Gethsemane Saceda, his children, Nichel
Saceda-Hurt (Frank Hurt) and Rachelle Saceda Morrissette (Tracy Morrissette);
his grandchildren, Maximina and Pedrin Saceda-Hurt, and Rubie, Evie, and
Lucien Saceda Morrissette; his mother-in-law, Dionisia Llanto, and
brother-in-law Michael Llanto. He is also survived by his brothers, Quentin
and Severino Saceda; and sisters, Alfonso Saceda and Paz Speer; and other
family members in the United States and Philippines.
A viewing and visitation will take place at the Alaskan Memorial Park &
Mortuary on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at 5:30 p.m. Mass and funeral
Services will be held on Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at noon at the St.
Paul's Catholic Church. Reception to follow at the St. Paul's Parish Hall.
