Olive Susanne Walker passed away on April 15, 2016, in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, with her husband of 34 years, David, by her side. She was 61 years old. Susanne was born May 29, 1954, in San Bernardino, CA to Leon Searcy and Olive Harvey. A celebration of life was held in her honor in their residing town of Punta Pelicanos, Mexico, with many of her local friends present.
Susanne was kind to everyone she met and would always go out of her way to extend hospitality to those around her. She was quick to offer praise and compliment, never one to criticize, and saw the best qualities of those she encountered. Susanne was meticulous in the attention she gave to all elements of her life, often evident with the love and care she displayed toward David.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father and step-father George Harvey. She was survived by her husband David, step-son Robert Walker, brothers Donald and Dennis Searcy, and sisters Joanne Miller, Sandra Latner, Barbara and Patricia Harvey, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
David Winslow Walker passed away on May 2, 2016, in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. He was 69 years old. David was born February 10, 1947, in Pasadena, CA to William Winslow Walker and Lola Walker.
David was a person of strong character and resolve and demonstrated that daily through hard work, hard play, and strong affection toward family and friends. Not outwardly emotional, his actions spoke louder than words, and the deep love and care from his heart were something you knew when you experienced it.
He was preceded in death by his wife Susanne just two weeks earlier, and his mother and father. He is survived by his son Robert Winslow Walker, granddaughter Ava Sophia Walker, and sister Judy Magonaceleya.
Susann and David made their home in Juneau, Alaska from 1979 to 1997. They ran a family business together for 27 years, and while the business kept them busy, they also made many life-long friends with whom they would visit during the summer while snow-birding to and from Mexico. Susanne enjoyed hosting friends and family and would welcome the chance whenever possible. The well-being and happiness of others was of utmost importance to Susanne, and obvious trait to all who knew her. David enjoyed learning new things and helping friends with projects as well as ensuring Susanne had ample opportunity to cater to others and would often sit back and tell her to "do what makes you happy, Baby". Susanne and David were the best of friends to each other, great parents, great friends and mentors, and will be missed by numerous people the world-over.
