A Memorial service will be held for Patricia Ann Brandt, 66, of Coos Bay, Or at 5:30 Friday 9th of October, at the Church of Latter Day Saints, 5100 Glacier Hwy in Juneau. Cremated burial will be held at the Alaska Memorial Park 2:00 Saturday 10th of October.
Patricia was born December 12, 1948 in Juneau, Alaska, the daughter of William S. and Martha (Lawrence) Horton. She passed away July 27, 2015 in Coos Bay, Or. Patricia was raised and educated in Juneau and was very proud of her Tlingit heritage. She graduated from high school then she attended Ricks College, Brigham Young University and later Southwestern. She was married to Jan P. Brandt on July 4, 1982 in Reno, Nevada and then moved to Coos Bay in 1987. She worked for many years for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, JoAnn Fabrics, and ACS until retiring.
Patricia enjoyed sewing, quilting,& crocheting. She was a member of the Coos Bay Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she was passionate about social issues and served as the President of the Coos County Democrat Party.
She is survived by her Husband: Jan Brandt of Coos Bay, Or; Daughter: Betsy Day of Coos Bay, Or; Sons: James Brandt USN Oahu, HI; Mathew & Wife Mindy Brandt of Springfield, Or ; Jon Brandt of Fresno, Ca; .Granddaughters: Savannah, Jasmine, & Maya; Brothers: Allen, Gary, Jeff, Rick, William Horton of Alaska; Sisters: Brenda, Liz, Bertha, Doris, & Laverne of Alaska and Washington
