  • "Rest in peace Rae."

Raemel Ann Davis passed away in her home on August 31, 2012 at the age of 62.
Longtime Juneau resident, Raemel, Rae to friends and family, was born in Spokane, Washington to Raymond and Laura Fulkerson on August 9, 1951. After a short time in Boise, Idaho, the family moved to Anchorage, Alaska and then to Juneau, Alaska when she was a teenager. Rae graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School in 1969.
She was a cancer survivor and fought with the early stages of Parkinson's Disease, but throughout it all showed nothing but an incredible sense of independence. Rae, in life, was a vibrant, tough woman who loved horses and all things Alaska.
Rae lived most of her adult life in the shadow of Thunder Mountain. It was under this mountain that she raised her children Shawn, Joshua, Nicole, and Kristopher. It is under Thunder that she worked, played, loved, lived, and passed away; she would not have wanted it any other way.
She is survived by her four children, her eight brothers and sisters, Ray, Diane, Jerry, Jimmy, Larry, Kenny, Susie, and Nathan, one grandchild, and countless cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in the spring or summer of 2013, after which her family and friends will scatter her ashes at the top of her beloved Thunder Mountain; a fitting resting place for a remarkable woman.
If you would like to be notified when the service will be taking place, please email
[email protected] and her family will contact you with the memorial service information.
