Regina Beverly (Kanosh) Jack, lovingly known to family and friends as Gina, passed away January 2, 2015. She was 69. Gina was born in Angoon on November 4, 1945 to Joe Kanosh & Naomi (Dick) Kanosh.

On April 3, 1963 Regina and Johnnie Jack Jr. were married in Angoon at the Presbyterian Church. Charlie and Jennie Jim were their witnesses.

In her earlier years she worked at Angoon Head Start program, Chatham Cannery, Hawk Inlet, Whalers Cove Lodge, the Angoon Clinic, Senior Center and school kitchen.

Gina loved her children very much. But her drive and her passion was for her grandchildren and great-granddaughters. She lived, breathed, and fought every day to be here with them. Before her grandchildren and great-grand daughters enriched and blessed her life, she had numerous nieces and nephews who she loved whole-heartedly.

She loved her word search puzzles, Scrabble and Yahtzee games. Anyone who spent time with her could attest to the fact that when Yahtzee ran out of batteries, it was an emergency that needed to be taken care of right away. The special thing she treasured most was time, when people made time to come and say hi, how are you doing, just dropped in to say I love you, that meant so much to her.

She is survived by her children Carolyn (Doll) Jack, Joyce (Kevin) Frank, Johnnie (Kathy) Jack, brother William (Elouise) Kanosh, sisters Rachel Baker, Donita Kochutin, and Rose Peratovich. Gina is also survived by grandchildren Konrad Frank, Kevin Frank Jr., Alicia Jack, Bruce Jack, Justin Jack and Michael Jack. Her great-granddaughters are Alaina Jackson and Naomi Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joe & Naomi Kanosh, husband Johnnie Jack Jr., son Michael Anthony Jack, sisters Esther Pas, Josephine Melzo, and Bertha Bray, grandsons Michael Anthony and Kenny Boy and son-in-law Alfred Jack.

The family would like to thank all of the many family and friends who have stood with them in this very difficult time. Also, special thanks to the staff at Wild Flower Court and the doctors and nurses at Bartlett Hospital, especially in the Critical Care Unit. Family can be contacted at Joyce Frank PO Box 184, Angoon, AK 99820.

Regina will be taken home to Angoon, where services will be held 6pm Thursday, January 8 at the ANB.
Funeral services will follow Friday, January 9 at 10am.
