Robert M. (Bob) Ellis

Bob Ellis passed away May 21, 2013 of natural causes at his home in Sedro Woolley, WA. He was born in Ellisforde, Washington on May 17, 1925. After serving in the Army during World War II as a paratrooper, he moved to Alaska with his wife and family. He resided in Juneau from 1948 until moving to Sedro Woolley in January 1974. While in Juneau, he worked and owned the Ellis Body Shop-specializing in body and fender work on automobiles. After his move to Washington, he worked for Blade Chevrolet in Mount Vernon until retiring.

He enjoyed raising roses for several years and found a lot of pleasure by working in his yard. He also loved the challenge of a game of cribbage and made several boards for family and friends over the years.

Survivors include his sister, Betty Rockstad of Rock Island, WA; sisters-in-law, Madge Haney of Oroville, WA and Phoebe Whistler of Mesa, AZ; brother-in-law, Bob Whistler of Plano, TX; daughters Linda Macaulay of Juneau, AK; Sandra Harvey of Oroville, WA; Nancy Hathaway (Ben) of Laughlin, NV and Patsy Kline (Mike) of Anchorage; and son John Ellis (Kathy) of Zihuatanejo, Mexico; ten grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by special friend and 'adopted granddaughter', Dana Reynolds of Bow, WA.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Esther Ellis; brother, Dick Ellis; sister, Toni Haw; wife, Donna; sons-in-law, Ladd Macaulay and Tom Harvey; and grandsons, Casey Harvey and Jerry Macauley.

His ashes will be buried in a private ceremony in Oroville, WA. Per his request, no formal services will be held. The family can be contacted in care of: Linda Macauley ~15575 Glacier Hwy. ~ Juneau, AK 99801
