Sam Elizabeth Larson died on January 8, 2015, at Bartlett Regional Hospital. She was born in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, on December 21, 1962. She spent several years living and working in Sitka, Alaska, both at Sitka Community Hospital and Sitka Pioneers' Home. Sam was esteemed by the doctors and medical professionals that worked with her.
Sam was a loving and vibrant lady, always helping others and pitching in when work needed to be done. She was especially gifted with an artistic side and loved to work in her crafts room at home. She showered her friends and family with handmade cards and gifts.
She moved to Juneau with her family about four years ago and worked at Bartlett Regional Hospital as an Operating Room Endoscopy Nurse. She also worked at the Juneau Pioneers' Home on a contract basis. She was a well-respected nurse and caregiver. Those who knew her or worked with her loved her sunny and jovial personality.
Sam is survived by her husband, Edward, and her daughter, Holly Jean, both of Juneau. She is also survived by her adult daughter, Chante' Renee Larson, of Blaine, Minnesota.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2015, at 3 p.m. at the Juneau Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4343 Mendenhall Loop Road. Following the Memorial Service there will be a fellowship celebration meal in the church fellowship hall.
