Sandy was born May 11, 1954 In Juneau, Alaska to Sylvia Johnson and the Late Sandy Johnson Sr. He was the only boy of 8 children.
Sandy had many hobbies including, dominoes, backgammon, chess, dice, and many card games, also his love of our Native Culture, he painted many pictures and did some carving that he gave to his loved ones. He loved to also play pool and a good game of darts! Can not forget his love for fishing with his Dad! He also had always had a camera or video camera on hand at every family dinner/event, capturing those priceless family moments in time!
Sandy had served in the United States Navy in his early years, he was known as the "Alaskan Grizzly" a powerhouse boxer he was! After serving his term and was Honorable Discharge, he came back home to work with his dad for Red Sam Construction for many, many years! Sandy left for a brief time to Seattle, Washington, where he worked for Bureau of Indian Affairs, he missed his family and returned home a few short years being away.
Sandy had an tremendous amount of love for his family, especially his parents and nieces and nephews, always showering those he loved with gifts!
Sandy was preceded in death by his Father Sandy Johnson Sr. , Uncles George Johnson, Jerry Kahklen, Milton Joe Kahklen, Dan Kahklen, Aunts Katherine Grant, Violet James, Sisters Marsha, Ernestine, and Sandra Johnson, Niece Sylvia Ann Kitajima
Sandy is survived by his Mother Sylvia Johnson Sisters Christine, Kathy, Penny and Bernandine Johnson, Aunts Alice Haldane, Ruth Johnson ,Carol Martin, Mary Alex, Harriet Knudson, Uncles George Grant, Willy Grant, Arthur Johnson, Stan Haldane, Along with many, many nieces and nephews and cousins!
