Timothy Enoch Tong, AKA "Tim the Mechanic" 37 of Juneau, Alaska passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016 in his families cabin at Haines, AK. Tim was born October 6, 1979 in Texarkana, TX. He accepted Christ as Savior and was baptized at the Second Southern Baptist Church, Crossroads, AR in August, 1993. He was a 1999 graduate of South Shore High School, South Shore, SD. He served in the U.S. Air Force as an Aerospace Ground Equipment Repairman.
Tim was employed by AJC in Juneau, AK, for 10 years, where he achieved his ASC Certification. Tim was a member of the Juneau Snowmobile Club and helped with Search and Rescue. Tim was gifted with his hands. There was nothing he could not do or fix. He was a good friend to many and mentored a lot of young people. He always helped a stranger in need, asking nothing in return. Tim loved sledding and four-wheeling with his daughter Cheyenne. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Another activity he liked was driving around with his dog, Georgie.
He was preceded in death by Grandfathers, Enoch "Boo" Fields and George H. Tong. He is survived by his daughter Cheyenne Herline of Juneau, AK; his parents Isaac and Melinda Tong and one brother Benjamin Tong of Lockesburg, AR; paternal grandmother Patricia Reed Tong of Foreman, AR; maternal grandmother Lucy Seastrunk Fields Welch and Step Grandfather Robert Welch of Ashdown, AR; one special cousin, like sister Shannon Fields Moeser of Juneau AK; cousin Roy Grantham of Fairbanks, AK; and many more Great Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held 7pm, Friday, December 30, 2016, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 10490 Glacier Hwy, Juneau. All friends are welcomed, come as you are, with your stories to celebrate Tim's life.
