Virginia Nellie Hanson, 71, passed away early Saturday morning, March 15, 2014. Virginia was born in Hoonah, AK, on August 2, 1942. She belonged to the Eagle moiety, Killer whale clan. She was also a Sealaska and Goldbelt shareholder. She loved to go for car rides with her late husband Tom Mooney, and was a frequent bingo player.
Virginia is survived by her children Mary Rivera, Alice Germain and George Bell; Sisters Martha James and Bernice Johnson; 7 grandchildren Ramiro Rivera, Jr., Rachel Rivera, Tara Hansen, Cory Hansen, Edgar Monignok, Jeremiah Germain, and Robert Germain, Jr., 4 great-grandchildren; close friends and many many relatives.
Services will be held on Monday, March 24, 2014, at the Salvation Army church (439 Willoughby Avenue) at 5:00 pm. A reception will follow immediately at the reception hall below the church.
