Wilbur J. Donnelly walked into the forest on December 10, 2014 at Bartlett Hospital with family and friends at his side. He was born in Juneau, Alaska, on December 17, 1927, to Dora (Johnson) and Lee Donnelly. His Tlingit name was S.dayaat.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Brothers Robert Lee Donnelly, Joseph Allen Donnelly, James Donnelly and Sister Cecelia Klanott.
He was a commercial fisherman, construction worker, worked at the Sitka Saw Mill, Snettishaam, the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, and Long Island Development Co. David Light and Wilbur were the last survivors who worked on the ANB Hall in Klukwan.
He also served in the Army National Guard.
Wilbur was a member of Klukwan Inc., Sealaska Corp., the American Legion, and the Alaska Native Brotherhood. He enjoyed the Juneau Gold Medal basketball tournaments; Klukwan and Haines teams were two of his favorites, and watching the NFL games – his team was the Seattle Seahawks. He also enjoyed going to bingo and traveling to Las Vegas.
He is survived by his wife Bernice, his step-son Michael; nephew Jeff Klanott (Beverly), and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held in Juneau on December 14, 2014, at Tlingit and Haida Community Council at 6:00 PM and a reception to follow.

There will be service in Klukwan on December 17, 2014, at the ANS Hall at 1:00 pm.
