Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Educator and Friend.

Bill was born September 5, 1934 in Juneau, Alaska. The son of Frederick and Mona Orme and brother of Carl, Joy and June Orme. Bill grew up in Douglas and graduated from Juneau Douglas High School in 1953. Bill then attended Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA (class of 1958) where he met his forever sweetheart and life companion, Myrna Kinyon Orme. They were married June 14, 1961. Myrna and Bill have two children, Mark of Seattle and Natasha of Bellingham, WA along with three granddaughters, Chenoa, Sara and Tessa. Bill was dedicated to and loved his family first and foremost.

Bill was a passionate and accomplished educator who touched many lives. He had many fulfilling life experiences as he greatly impacted those around him. Bill taught at Franklin Pierce High School in Tacoma, while earning a Master's Degree at the University of Washington. He was a natural mentor to his students, both in and out of the classroom. Bill was determined to make an impact on the multiple classroom level by educating teachers. Thus, Bill began to mentor teachers thru the Federal Teacher Core Program at Western Washington University in Bellingham. He held this position for several years before moving the family to American Samoa for another teacher-training program. There, Bill greatly impacted the local culture of teachers and students for over 4 years. The family then moved to Anchorage, Alaska where Bill taught at Steller Alternative High School. Bill once again, impacted the youth in his classroom, where he worked until his first retirement. Later after moving to Juneau, Bill worked at REACH, Inc. for many years where he was a tireless advocate for and mentor of individuals who experience disabilities.

Bill and Myrna loved to travel. They explored Europe and the Middle East after his second retirement, and then bought a motorhome and the adventures continued. They traveled the 'lower 48' before settling in Seattle to be near their grandchildren.

After a long difficult bout with his health, Bill died peacefully on August 9, 2015. Bill was 80 years old. He was preceded in death on January 17th, 2015 by his beloved wife Myrna.
