John "Johnny" Mazon died April 20, 2012 in Anchorage at the Alaska Native Medical Center.
He was the next to the oldest of seven children born Nov. 8, 1952 in Juneau to Venancio G. Mazon and Helen John Mazon. He attended St. Ann's Catholic School. He lived most of his life in Juneau and worked for Juneau Cold Storage and Alaska Dry Cleaners.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking and playing basketball in the Juneau City League.
He was married at the time of his death to Marcella Hunter-Mazon.
He is survived by Marcella's and his children, Irving and Benny Mazon; daughters, Julie Mazon, Francis Goenett, Lydia Mazon and Hazel Mazon, all of Seattle; sister Christalena (Richard) Curd of Knoxville, Tenn.; brothers, Venancio (Roberta) Mazon of Anchorage, Sam (Delores) Mazon of Juneau and Bambi (Bob) Raven Littlefeather of San Francisco.
He is preceded in death by his parents Venancio G. Mazon Sr. and Helen John-Mazon; son John David Mazon; half-brothers Knute (Joan) Felipe and Phillip (Kathy) Felipe; and many other family members.
