On September 5, 2012 Jacquelyn Lauren Badger, 30 years old, courageously left this earth bound for heaven while at the University of Washington Medical Center.
On June 13, 1981 Philip, Patricia, and family drove down to the Kenai River to catch a king salmon but instead came back to Anchorage with a beautiful Queen. Jacqui was raised in Palmer where she was an active member of her church and attended 4-H. She raised ducks, rode horses, and played the flute and viola. Jacqui enjoyed spending her time outdoors camping, fishing, and canoeing with friends and family. She graduated from Colony High School and attended the Career Academy in Anchorage as a Medical Assistant.
Jacqui worked at the Blood Bank of Alaska where she shared her passion for life. She would often promote the importance of blood and organ donation with her friends and family. Her life journey continued down to Juneau where she started her young family with Isabella (6) and Isiah (3). She spent every moment loving and nurturing her children while exploring the wonders of Southeast Alaska, tidepooling, and hiking the Mendenhall Glacier area. Hawaii was her favorite vacation destination. While being a mother was her number one priority, she loved and enjoyed her job at the Southeast Medical Clinic where her charismatic personality and passion for helping others won over her coworkers and patients.
Jacquelyn will be missed dearly by those that loved her most: her partner Carl Marvin, children Isabella and Isiah, parents Philip and Patricia, sisters Alexandrea, Breanna, Jordan and Jada, Grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
A celebration of her life will take place at 1:00PM on Saturday, October 6, at the Chapel by the Lake located at 11024 Auke Lake Way in Juneau. To all those that loved and cherished her, please come and celebrate with us. A potluck will follow the celebration, so please bring a dish of food to share.
A Joy for Jacqui memorial fund has been established and the family requests donations in lieu of flowers. Donations can be made during her celebration of life ceremony.
