Allen Edmund Henriques, 68, passed away suddenly at his home in Toledo, WA October 3, 2012. Allen was born in San Pedro, CA. In 1964 he joined the Coast Guard and was stationed in Juneau, AK where he met his wife of 45 years, MaryAnn Henriques (Lunda). Allen returned to Juneau in 1976 and worked for Pitney Bowes for 23 years servicing Southeast Alaska. Upon the retirement of his wife from government service for the State of Alaska in 2004, they moved to Toledo, WA to pursue their love of RV camping in different parts of the country. While in Juneau, Allen enjoyed fshing, wood carving and turning, and touring Alaska RV'ing from Haines to Coldfoot.
He is survived by his wife, MaryAnn; children, Michelle Iniguez of Juneau, AK, Pauline Henriques of Chugiak, AK, Jennifer Williams of Anchorage, AK, Jay Henriques of Seattle, WA; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers-in-law, George Lunda of Juneau and Robert Lunda of Hoonah.
Sitting above his workbench was a little plaque that read: Illegitimus Non Tatum Carborundum
