Dorothy Ann Jackson Born January 31,1967 in Juneau Alaska. Born to Paul M. Jackson Sr. and Margaret Jacobs Jackson Snodgrass. Dororthy was L'ooknax.ádi, Raven-Coho of the Diganaa Hít. Her Tlingit name was Koonook given to her by Grandmother Cecilia Kunz.
Dorothy passed away at Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage on December 15, 2012.
Dororthy enjoyed the company of her family and loved ones. She upheld family heritage through tlingit beading and preparation of cultural dishes. She enjoyed watching football (her team was the Washington redskins). Dorothy helped take care of her mother and step-father through their last years.
A service and a potluck will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 4pm will be the service at Glacier Valley Church of God 8497 Thunder Mountain Road Juneau, AK 99801.
She is survived by Mother, Lillian Sheakley, brothers, Paul Jackson Jr., William Jackson, Jimmy Jackson, Larry Jackson, Tom Gallant and Kevin and Fred Snodgrass; sisters, Tonya Gallant and June Snodgrass.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her Grandparents Kathy Annie Kitka Jacobs, Grandfather John Jacobs of Sitka, Grandmother Katy ITALIO Francis Mason Dalton, Grandfather Dick Mason of Hoonah, Father Paul Jackson Sr and Mother Margaret Jacobs Jackson Snodgrass and Frank Snodgrass, Sister Carol Jackson and Brother Fredrick Gallant, many loved dearly Auntie's, Uncles, Nieces, and Nephews.
Pallbearers Larry Jackson, Tom Gallant and John Morris, Lyle James. Honorary pallbearers will be Lillian Sheakley, Percy Kunz, Vera Jackson, Van Marie Jackson, Aaron St. Clair, Ozzie Sheakley and Herb Sheakley.
