Thomas Eric Osborne
Thomas E. Osborne passed peacefully away on April 12, 2013, 91 years to the day after his birth on April 12, 1922. His loving wife Dorothy had preceded him in death exactly 3 years earlier on April 12, 2010.

Tom was born into a pioneer family on April 12, 1922 in Cordova, Alaska and moved with his family to Juneau in 1928, where he resided for the rest of his life. Tom graduated from Juneau High School in the class of 1940 and was a veteran of World War II. Tom learned the jewelry trade from his father, George Osborne and in his younger years worked in the family jewelry store – Pioneer Jewelers. He was a successful commercial fisherman and married Dorothy Renhard in 1968. Tom and Dorothy fished together on the F/V Seal for several years. In earlier years, Tom was also accompanied to the fishing grounds by his nephews and, in later years by Dorothy's grandsons. After retiring from commercial fishing, Tom joined other local hikers each Wednesday to traverse the various trails and mountains around the Juneau area. He was an active member of the Juneau's Pioneer's Igloo #6 and Sons of Norway Svalbard Lodge.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, George and Bertha Osborne; wife, Dorothy; brother and sister-in-law Orvald and Elsie Osborne; sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and Joe Crosson; and niece, JoEllen Osborne.

Tom is survived by his step children Charles (Sandy) Renhard; Charlotte Beebe; and Carol Snell; his nieces Gloria (George) Katzenberger; Carol (Brice) Pearson; Sue (Gene) Fraser; and nephews, Arthur (Linnea) Osborne; Joe Crosson Jr.; Don (Carol) Crosson; Bob (MaryAlice) Crosson. He is also survived by several step-grand children and great grand children; great nieces and nephews; and, great great nieces and nephews. Tom is also survived by many friends and especially cherished those kindred souls who share his joy of the great outdoors and nature.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Sunday, May 5th, 2013 2:00 pm at the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Juneau followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tom's memory may be made to Juneau Trail Mix P.O. Box 35693 Juneau, AK 99801 or the .
