Terry Leroy Burkett
6/12/1948 - 4/5/2013

We played hard, bent some rules, lived, laughed and loved one another for 35 years. We went on great journeys together and now will walk down a different path, yet still linked by our endless love and humor!
My man, Terry Leroy Burkett, was born in Sacramento, Calif., on June 12, 1948 to Jamie and Betty Burkett passed on Friday April 5, 2013 after a fearless fight with cancer at the age of 64.
Terry grew up in Pilot Hill, Calif., on a ranch with his sister, attending elementary school in Cool, Calif., and graduating from Placer High School with the class of 1966.
He was a jack-of-all-trades, working for the US Forest Service, Georgetown Water District, Cal Ida Lumber Co., and Tanko Well Drilling before moving his family to Heron, Montana. There he worked for ASARCO Mining Co., for 10 years moving his family once again to Juneau, Alaska where he worked and retired from Kennecott Greens Creek Mining Co., as an electrician.
In 2003 we returned to Auburn, Calif.
Terry was an avid bow hunter and guided hunts for Elk Creek Outfitters in Heron, Montana yearly from 2005 to present. He also had a love for motorcycles, riding all over the US with me and a very special group of friends every summer for over 13 years. My man and I had a great life together ... just too short.
Terry is survived by his wife Linda; his three children, Bret Blackburn, Buffy Mahon (Bob), Sheena Bergeron (Brian); his sister, Pam Burkett; his grandchildren, Mariah, Gunner, Brody; nieces, nephews and many longtime friends from Calif., Mont., and Alaska.
There will be a celebration of Terry's life on May 4, 2013.
