Alaskan pioneer Rhonda Hildre Pasquan passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2013. She was 57 years old. Rhonda was born September 13, 1955 to Ron and Lynn Hildre.
Rhonda was born in Juneau, Alaska before Alaska became a state. She grew up in logging camps all over the Southeast Alaska area traveling with her parents as they built roads. Rhonda was a brownie and girl scout, she learned to hunt and fish during these days. Rhonda was home schooled in camp until she started high school and moved to town and graduated from Ketchikan High School. Rhonda lived most of her life in Southeast Alaska with a short time spent in Nevada and California. Rhonda lived a life that most people would have found storybook from hunting and fishing to working in a casino. She was always involved in truly enjoying Alaska and all that it had to offer.
Rhonda loved many things, her husband, her children, her grandchildren, family, friends, and the outdoors. She loved sharing her Alaskan stories with "Outsiders", whom were amazed and intrigued by her real life Alaskan tales. Rhonda worked for many years in the Insurance industry and spent her days enjoying life with husband Bob. Rhonda was an avid outdoorsman, she spent several years teaching the hunter safety course for Alaska. She spent many fall birthdays in the Alaskan interior doing what she loved…hunting for moose. Rhonda loved to spend days up the Taku River at their cabin. She was the happiest with Bob and she is now with him for eternity.
Rhonda is preceded in death by her husband Bob Pasquan. Rhonda met Bob and had a whirlwind love affair that lasted over 20 years. He was the love of her life. Rhonda is survived by her parents Ron Hildre of Juneau, Alaska and Lynn Hildre of Port Angeles, Washington. Her three children Celeste Dyakanoff of Juneau, Alaska, Marc and Monica Dyakanoff of Murrieta, California, Dylan Lee of Murrieta, California. Grandchildren Keenan Dyakanoff, Tristian Dyakanoff, Kalis Dyakanoff, Kyrie Dyakanoff, Corbin Cameron, and Calista Cameron. Brother Kris Hildre of Port Angeles, Washington, and sister Dori Chelini of Sparks Nevada, and Jim Hildre of Juneau, Alaska. Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In honor of Rhonda's memory, there will be a service at Chapel by the Lake on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at 4:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Life to follow at The Hangar on the Wharf (Ballroom). Letters of condolences can be sent to P.O. Box 240845, Douglas, Alaska 99824.
