A former Hoonah Resident Darcy Neal, 60, died May 7, 2014 at her home in Hoonah, AK.
A family viewing will be held @1:00 Monday May 12th at the Alaskan Memorial Park.

Mrs. Neal was born Dec. 07, 1953, in Seattle, Wash., to Robert and Edna Johnson. She graduated from Ballard High school in 1972. She married Daniel Neal on December 7, 1982, in Anchorage, AK.
Darcy traveled to Alaska with Dan in 1974, she fell in love with Alaska and instantly made it her home. Darcy worked in many places in Hoonah, her first job was at the Hoonah Crab Cannery. She waitressed at the Mary's Inn and the Hoonah Lodge where she also cooked for, a secretary for The Hoonah Health Clinic, and The City of Hoonah, where she then retired from. Darcy also chaperoned for many school festivities, mostly Sports, and occasionally substituted for the Hoonah City Schools.
In retirement, she enjoyed berry picking, fishing, walks along the beach, reading, spending quality time with her grandchildren, she also loved driving, including her most recent trip to Disneyland with her family in April. Darcy was admired for her kindness and generosity. She was well liked by many.
She is survived by her husband Daniel Neal of Hoonah; Son Ryan Neal of Hoonah; Daughter-in-law; Anasia Merculief of Hoonah, AK; grandchildren Riley Neal and Anthony Johnson of Hoonah, AK. Mother-in-law Violet Dalton-Cote of Seattle, WA; Sisters Margie Lentz of Bellevue, WA, Donna Samson of North Richland Hills, Texas; Nieces Nikki Hamilton of North Richland hills, Texas, Tanya Fales of Olathe, Kansas, Shelley Light of Seattle, WA, Gina Stephens of Seattle, WA; Nephews Justin Lentz of Bellevue, WA, Tom Dalton Jr., and Michael Dalton of Seattle, WA: Step daughter Cristal Heras of Juneau, AK; brother-in-law Rick Lentz of Bellevue, WA, Tom Dalton of Seattle, WA, Morris Samson of North Richland Hills, Texas; Adopted sister Sherri Violet of Juneau, AK; Uncle Jim Hembree of Little Rock, Arkansas; Auntie Carol Hembree of Little Rock, Arkansas; good friend Julia See of Hoonah, AK. Numerous nieces and nephews whom haven't been mentioned, family apologies if not listed.
Mrs. Neal was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Edna Johnson of Bellevue,WA, her In-Laws Jessie and George Dalton Sr. of Hoonah, AK.
