Lois Hyet Obituary
Lois Jean Hyet, age 89, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 in Arcadia, FL. Jean was born September 6, 1924 in Kalamazoo, MI, moving to Arcadia in 1984 from Lawton, MI. Jean graduated from Richland High School, Richland, MI, class of 1942. She enjoyed sewing, playing the organ, and spending quality time with her grandchildren. Also, adopting many stray pets through out her life time. Survivors are three sons, Charles A. (Patricia) Hyet, Otsego, MI, Michael F. Hyet, Arcadia, FL, Floyd "Bud" M. (Doreen) Hyet, lll, NC; two daughters, Helene B. Galindo, and Dallene T. Pullen, both of Arcadia, FL; a beloved nephew, Terry (Donna) Stoken of Galesburg, MI and sister-in-law, Elva Root of Burr Oak, MI; 16 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a dear friend, Dellouise VanEck of Portage, MI. Jean is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Floyd M. Hyet, Jr. (2004); parents, Karl and Margerite (Terry) Root; brothers; Robert E. Root and Jack Root; sisters, Louise Stoken, Martha Hagerman, and Charlotte Dragos; also a daughter-in-law, Judith A. Hyet. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date, in Michigan. Requests for contributions are to be made to Tidewell Hospice of America, 919 N. Arcadia Ave. Arcadia, FL 34266 or charity of your choice. Mrs. Hyet was so good and kind to me back in the late 1960's. I especially remember one particular time, but--oh, that's a long story. May she deservedly-- Rest In Peace.

i have known Jean all of my life..We lived across from each other at an early age. Found a picture the other day. We were reacquainted around 1995 through some Reunions I had for ten years. It brought many old friends together. I hope her time was peaceful. Maxine Dunning Vincent

Dear Hyet family,
We knew all of the children. Growing up we were neighbors around the block from each other, rode the same school bus.
Your mother raised you all to be fine adults. That is a huge accomplishment!
May Lois enjoy her deserved Angel wings and being with your father in heaven.
