Dena M. Stewart

Stewart, Dena M. Kalamazoo Age 91, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023. Dena was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on June 3, 1931, the daughter of the late Clyde G. and Dora L. (Pierce) Ellis. She is survived by her children, Carol (Neil) Segerdahl and Greg Stewart; granddaughters, Sarah (David) Espinosa, Brooke (David) Hines and Mary Segerdahl; great-grandchildren, Steven (Deanne), Andrew, Kathryn and Benjamin Thurston, Collin, Abigail, Samuel and Jillian Hines and Isabelle and Maya Segerdahl; sister in-law, Sandra Ellis; special family friend, Jan Stewart and many nieces and nephews. Dena was preceded in death by her son, James Stewart; brothers, Gale (Blanche), John (Elizabeth) and Vernon Ellis and sisters, Ethel Ellis, Faye (Dix) VanDaff and Barbara (Carl) Zoutman. She retired from the Upjohn Company after 24 years of employment and was a long-time member of Lake Center Bible Church. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South. Visitation will take place at the funeral home one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of one's choice.
