Janet, Jeffy, Chad, & Coby--
Do you remember Brandy? I know she loved each and everyone of you. I can remember Jeffy coming to the back door and there was Brandy with her little toothy grin so excited to see him. As soon as Jeffy entered the kitchen, Brandy would attach herself to his pant leg. (Jeffy, I really think Vaughn got a kick out of Brandy hanging from your pants. Vaughn has such a different sense of humor.) I know that Candle was as fond of her as the rest of you.
Candle was probably around eight or nine back then. Her shoulders were just a smidge higher than the kitchen cabinet counters. When Candle would come over for an evening of fun, Brandy would be at the back door to greet her. Brandy had that same smile she had for Jeffy. But, Candle was really quick. She would walk over to the kitchen counter and lift herself on top. She would sit there until I got there to cart Brandy off to the bedroom.
We were all really surprised that you never noticed how her upper arms were becoming so muscular. In time Candle might have been able to compete for the U.S. pole vaulting team. Or, maybe even the Canadian curling team.
That was a lot of years ago. Brandy moved to the west side of town with us and I think Candle decided to give up the idea of developing that upper arm muscle. When Candle came in eye contact with Brandy it only took Candle a New York second (not minute) to hit the top of our counter.

Sammy, nut covered cheese ball Kerry Janzen here. There are so many great memories I don't know where to start. The memory I choose to recall is Candle laughing and smiling, telling jokes that it brought everyone within earshot to the point of tears. Candle brought and still brings so much joy to the world words do not do justice. Sammy, my thought and prayers go out to you and your family yesterday, today, and in the future.
All my love to you and yours.

Jeff, I still remember the summer days at MTW with Candle sitting at her perch doing her nails, Don sitting at his eating paper...Candle would holler out "Fancy, want to go to Rio for lunch?" and off we would go to Taco Rio! Can only begin to imagine the depth of your loss. So many good memories remain.

Candles family- I have been praying for you constantly. We lost someone and God gained. It is hard for us to think of it that way , but it is true. I didnt know Candle very much. I was Calvins teacher in CDO and I she always brought laughter and was a wonderful mom to Calv. She always managed to smile and make someone laugh. Now, we can smile at all the memories we have of her.

dear sam...I'm remembering back to when you and Candle began your journey together. I've very rarely seen someone love someone the way Candle loved you. I
too have lost someone suddenly and all I can say is each day, it gets a little easier to get up and only with time does the pain dull. You are so blessed with an abundance of people that love you and the kids so much. Use them as much as possible. They are hurting as well and it makes them feel better to serve you in any way. And last...just remember...and I believe this wholeheartedly....although you cannot see Candle, she is still with you in every way and will spend eternity with you

Sam, Ella and Calvin,
Would like to send our deepest sympathy for your loss of Candle. No one should have to go through the pain of losing a member of the family. Candle was a very exceptional young lady that I became to know and like very well. She was funny, happy, bubbly person, And fun to be around, She will be missed by all who new her. May she rest in peace
Please accept our warmest sympathies and be comforted knowing that God is "near to those that are broken at heart, and those who are crushed in spirit he saves." (Psalm 34: 18)

Sam, Ella and Calvin, I understand how you feel right now and just know that one day at a time and lots of good memories will sustain you through this. What a loss to so many! We really can't believe it but who are we as mere humans to decide the fate of ourselves and our loved ones. We are so sorry for your loss of your beloved freind and relative and pray for her husband and children that they may have an abundance of support from eveyone. Just know that God is watching her now and the fact that you had her for so many years was such a blessing to so many people. Remember the body is a mere shell of what truly matters and that is the spirit and soul which will ALWAYS be with you!
