Joyce, I first met Rusty when I worked at Cessna for a brief time in the late 70's. He was such a nice guy and Carol and I always enjoyed visiting with him. He got us interested in collecting coins and I remember you being a great Royals fan that kept all their scores. Rusty will be missed by all. Our depest sympathies to you and the boys.

Uncle Rusty was such a fun person to be around. Always positive and usually himming or singing. I regret that we didn't see him more in his later years. My thought and prayers are with Aunt Joyce, Randy and Steve.

Uncle Rusty was always happy, always had a smile on his face, I fondly remember his imitations of cartoon characters and how they made me laugh. Of course, his saxaphone and him playing Yakity Sax will live in my memories. Uncle Rusty was a true ambassador of hospitality, never met a stranger and he will be missed. We shall not see his like again. My prayers are with Aunt Joyce and my cousins, Steve and Randy

I have very fond memories of Uncle Rusty and Aunt Joyce's home on Pershing. Uncle Rusty could make the best hamburgers ever. His collections were fascinating, he always has time to explain things to a curious niece. He truly was"The leader of the Band". My thoughts and prayers are with Aunt Joyce,Steve and Randy

This guy was just one of many reasons why I love being in this hobby of license plate collecting. He made this collector feel welcome at the KLPCA meets from the very start when I attended my first KLPCA meet in Great Bend in 2000, and friendship and camraderie still carry on in the KLPCA today...a true Ambassador of the hobby. He will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to meet and know him... Our sincerest sympathies to Joyce, Steve, Randy, their families, and the collectors of the KLPCA.

Rusty, my older cousin, was someone whom I always admired. He had a great sense of humor. In Tom Allen's tribute was the phrase "and boy did he ever," which came across just as Rusty would have said it. My two girls were given saxophones in grade school partly because of Rusty. We will miss him.

Rusty helped me with my license plate collecting when I first got started. Thanks Rusty! We'll miss you.

Rusty and I met many years ago at the Wichita swap meet where Rusty was looking for a license plate for his antique car. I encouraged him to collect license plates and boy did he ever! Rusty was a regular attendee at our many license plate swap meets and he made many friends in the hobby including myself. He will be missed by all of our fellow KLPCA members.

Rusty and I were friends while we worked at Cessna. He worked in Accounting and I worked in Data Processing. He and I worked together on systems that ran on the computer. I remember going to Beaumont with Rusty for a Cessna sponsored event and we really enjoyed ourselves. He was one of a kind and I will always cherish our friendship.

Joyce and Son's,
We are sorry to read about Rusty's death. He was a great neighbor when we lived on Pershing. My husband Rod enjoyed saving his "Drive Away" tags for him every year. Rusty had given us a tag for each of us and our kids for the year we were born and they still hang in our garage today. He also had made a plaque for my husband out of pennies that read Hack and it hangs along with the tags. He was a man of great character! Cherish your memories and may God Bless each of you.
