Marvin Earl Dunsworth

PRETTY PRAIRIE - Dunsworth, Marvin Earl, 65, was called home by the Lord on December 26, 2013. This angel was born on January 14, 1948 in Hutchinson, Kansas, to Max Earl Dunsworth and Veda Ruth Stringer. He was a resident of Pretty Prairie Kansas. He was preceded in death by his father, Max Earl Dunsworth Jr and his sister Marilyn Curless. Marvin is survived by his daughter Christy (Rick) Southards of Valley Center, Kansas. Other survivors include granddaughter Ashley (Adam) Wingate of Valley Center and grandson Austin (fiance Jennah Reardon) Southards of Valley Center, Kansas, his companion, Joan Peterman of Lyons, his mother, Veda (Elvis) Downs of Wichita, Kansas and stepmother Marie Dunsworth of Hutchinson. Siblings include brothers, Terry (Pat) Dunsworth of Hutchinson, KS, and Jerry (Regina) Dodson of Licking, Missouri and sister Geanetta Renner of Hutchinson, along with several nieces and nephews. Mr. Dunsworth served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he received the Purple Heart and other service medals. He was formerly employed for 19 years with Cargill Salt of Hutchinson and retired from the United States Postal Service in Lyons, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson, with Pastor Cavin Lambert presiding. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Visitation will be held Wed. from 1-9PM, with the family present from 6-8pm that evening, all at the funeral home.
