ZENDA - Bohrer, James E., 83, died Oct. 31, 2013, at the Prairie Sunset Home, Pretty Prairie. He was born Jan. 10, 1930, at Nashville, Kan., the son of John and Nell Devilbiss Bohrer. A lifetime resident of the Zenda community, he was a retired farmer and stockman. Jim was a member of the St. Peter Catholic Church; Willowdale K of C Council #2662, a former Master Instructor for Hunter Safety Course, a lifetime member of the VFW; and was a U.S. Navy veteran. On April 19, 1952, he married Rosaline Lies at Colwich, Kan. Other survivors include son, Jim; daughters, Jane Tatro, LuAnn Danahy and Janice Leland; daughter-in-law, Shirley Bohrer; brother, John; 20 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis; brothers, Dave, Andy and Paul; and sisters, Alice Engals and Sr. Mary Jane Bohrer. Parish rosary will be 7 p.m. Monday, at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the St. Peter Catholic Church, Willowdale. Burial with U.S. Navy rites will be in the St. Peter Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made with the Prairie Sunset Home or Rivercross Hospice, both in care of the funeral home.
