Neal Smith Obituary

Smith, Capt. Neal Wade, 46, passed away Sept. 17, 2012, in Beaumont, Texas. Neal was born Feb. 10, 1966, in Jacinto City, Texas. Neal was raised in Wichita, Kan., where he also attended college at Kansas State and Wichita State University. He proudly served in the US Navy for five years and was currently an Atascocita Firefighter, serving the community since 2008. In four short years he rose to the respected rank of Captain. Capt. Smith leaves behind his loving wife, Penny and two children, Nicholas and Natalie. He is also survived by his parents, Donna and Dexter Stephens, Robert and Patricia Miller; two brothers, Noel and Nathan; and one sister, Anita; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family. The family will greet friends and host visitation on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Rosewood Funeral Home in Humble, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at the First Assembly of God Church, Humble, Texas, with full military and firefighter honors. A graveside service will be held in Wichita, Kan. at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at Greenwood Cemetery, 6231 W. 47th St. S., Wichita, Kan.

May God bless and comfort the family and friends of Neal. I went to high school with Neal and remember him as such a fun-loving and happy person that spread with each smile. His life was an unselfish one and I am sure he will be missed by many. My sincerest condolences.
