Stewart, Dorothy L., 91, stenographer, died Fri, April 25, 2014. She was born December 29, 1922 in Miami County, KS, the daughter of Stanley and Eva Alpert Dale. Dorothy graduated from Paola High School in 1940. She worked for the County Superintendent of Schools 2 <1/2>years and had a Civil Service job in Emporia for a short while. After returning to Paola, she worked for the Miami County National Bank and Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Co., as an area steno. She retired in 1985. Dorothy married Richard Dale Reimal Mar. 13, 1944 at the Presbyterian Church Parsonage in Paola, KS. They were divorced, and he later died in 1972. She married Daryl D. Stewart Sep. 7, 1988 in Clayton, NM. He died in 2002. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Emporia and a member of the ABWM at the church. Dorothy is survived by one daughter, Shelli Nestelroad; four grandchildren, Todd Cortner, Tara Edwards, Brooke Allen and Graham Shafer; and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 4 step children, 7 step grandchildren, and a number of step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Cheryl Cortner; and a sister, Virginia Lowry. A memorial service will be held Tues., Apr. 29, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Emporia, 807 Constitution St., Emporia, KS.
