Estopare, Cherry (Gilmer), passed away peacefully at home on July 10, 2014, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on September 11, 1949, in Amarillo, Texas to Dona I. and Elliott G. Gilmer. Cherry graduated from West Texas State University in 1972. She married Leo Estopare on January 14, 1972. Cherry and Leo moved to Wichita, Kansas in May 1973 where they made many wonderful and faithful friends through the years. Cherry's working career included being tennis shop owner at the Wichita Country Club, Butterfly House and gift shop manager at Botanica, sales associate at the Green Elephant, and working at Commtech for the past 11 years. Cherry was an active community volunteer as a member of the Junior League of Wichita. Her special interests were reading, traveling, gardening, watching classic movies and going to theatre. Cherry was preceded in death by her mother, Dona Gilmer, and is survived by her husband, Leo Estopare; father, Elliott Gilmer; sister, Judy (David) Ries; and brother, Jim (Shirley) Gilmer. A celebration of Cherry's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 14, 2014, at University Congregational Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to .
