Jones, Margaret R., Born December 19, 1927, died Monday, June 23, 2014. Preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Josephine Ricklefs and her brother Ralph Ricklefs Jr. Survived by her husband, Jack R. Jones; her brother, John Ricklefs; her three sons: Jay (Bev), Mark (Vicki), and Jeff (Catherine); four grandchildren: Emily Cox, Adam Jones, Matthew Jones, and Aaron Jones; and by four great-grandchildren: Jason Cox, Ellie Cox, Bryan Jones, and Katerina Jones. Margaret graduated from Kansas State University in 1950 as the only female in the class of landscape architects. Before her retirement in 1992, Margaret was highly sought for her landscape designs. Her over 2500 commercial and residential projects include the Sedgwick County Zoo Master Plan and the Wilderness Garden at Botanica. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 18, at 2:00 p.m., at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1101 N. River Blvd. A memorial has been established with Botanica, 701 Amidon, Wichita, KS 67203.
