Hodges, Jack R., 90, passed away July 23, 2014. He was born September 29, 1923 to Martin and Ethelyne Hodges in Gentry, AR. Jack attended and graduated from Kansas State University utilizing the GI Bill. He was a United States Naval and US Army veteran who served in World War II and the Korean War. While attending KSU, he met the love of his life, Ruby Jean Reneau. They married September 1, 1950 in Independence, KS. He was a member of several professional organizations including the Wichita Rotary Club. Jack was a successful businessman, he was president of southwest Petroleum and successfully opened locations in Wichita for BG Products and lubrication engineers. He was a great hunter and fisherman. Jack was a lover of nature and spent many hours in the great outdoors. While his work and outdoor play were important to him, his greatest pride was his family. Jack is survived by his wife of the home, Jean Hodges; children, Gayle Hodges of Wichita, Kevan and Kim Hodges of Elk Falls, LeAnn & Dylan Burns of Edmond, Ok.; 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; brother, Alex Hodges of Clinton, MO. He will be greatly missed, but will live on in our hearts and minds forever. Memorial services are to be limited to family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's name can be made to the National Arbor Day Foundation.
