Conway, Johnnie L. Jr., 60, of Springtown, Texas, a loving husband, father, son, brother, pastor and friend, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014. Funeral 10 a.m. Friday, at Hilltop Family Church, 1227 Old Cottondale Rd., Springtown. Interment at Springtown Cemetery. Visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Hilltop Family Church. Johnnie was born Sept. 19, 1953, in Wichita, Kan., to Johnnie L. and Ruth Jean Conway. He moved to this area when he was 20 and worked for Holt Hickman at Frostemp. He later worked as vice president of marketing for John Clardy at Clardy Manufacturing. He received his call to pastor and in 1991 started Hilltop Family Church in Springtown. Johnnie was a beloved pastor to all people, not just to Hilltop Family Church, but to the community of Springtown and the surrounding areas. He had a heart and personality as big as Texas and went out of his way to assist anyone in need. He was preceded in death by a sister, Tammi S. Rico of Wichita; and a stepfather, Johnny Ray Smith of Springtown. Survivors: wife of 43 years, Cindy Conway of Springtown; children, Brandon Conway and wife, Sha, and Jennifer Conway of Springtown; mother, Jean Baldwin of Springtown; father, Johnnie L. Conway Sr. and wife, Estelle, of Joplin, Mo.; brothers, Terry Conway of Wichita, Jackie Conway of Fort Worth, Texas, and Johnny Ray Smith II of Wichita; and grandchildren, Summer and Kallie Conway of Springtown.
