Boling, Edward E., 93, retired Cessna Aircraft engineering inspector passed away, Saturday, October 5, 2013. He was born on June 26, 1923, in Joplin, MO to Henry Clay and Maggie Boling and married Deloris Kirby on October 19, 1939, in Bentonville, AR. Edward served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII seeing active duty as a tank commander in the Solomon Islands and Guadalcanal, where was wounded and the only survivor of a tank explosion that left him hospitalized for a year with a hole in his heart and busted eardrums. After recovery he was honorably discharged, received his Purple Heart and returned home to his family. Preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brother, Lloyd. Survivors include his daughters, Francis Wellauer of Haysville, KS, Jo Ann (Jack) Dunn of Great Bend, KS; son, Duane Boling of Wichita; sister, Jewell Duncan of Rogers, AR; brother, Henry Clay Boling, Jr. of Bentonville, AR; grandchildren, Maria Wrench-Mistretta, Chester Wrench, Dusty Davis, and Cameron Clayton; great-grandchildren, Trevor Tracy, Rachel Tracy, Rebecca Tracy, Jacob Tracy, Kaitlyn Wrench, Kourtney Wrench; and 1 great-great-grandchild, Aiden Tracy.
