CONWAY SPRINGS - Patterson, Horace E. "Pat," 71, retired technical writer, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at his home in Conway Springs. Services 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, United Methodist Church, Conway Springs. He was born Aug. 7, 1942, in Los Angeles, CA and served in the US Navy aboard the USS Oriskany in the early 1960's. He was employed by Lockheed, Burbank, CA for 7 years, Kreonite, Wichita for 11 years, Circuit City, Wichita for 7 years and retired from Boeing Aircraft after 8 years. Preceded in death by parents, Horace and Mary (Whaley) Patterson; and son, Eric Patterson. Survivors: wife, Janet; daughters, Rebecca (Curtis) Leddy and Catherine (David) Poland all of Conway Springs; son, Luke ( Luisa) of Overland Park; brother, Lynn (Linda) of West Richland, WA; sister, Betty (John) Porubski of Goddard; and 7 grandchildren. Memorials have been established to the Wounded Warrior Project or Conway Springs Mission Mart.
