Kent Foley Obituary

Foley, Kent R., 53, passed away October 27, 2014, at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital, Wichita. He was born in Topeka, Kan. on December 27, 1960. He was raised on a farm in Valley Falls, Kan. Kent earned an associaties degree in Agriculture at Pratt Community Community College. While working toward his degree he was an active member of the college rodeo as a bull rider. On November 27, 1982, after a careful consideration of the Bible, Kent was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He married the love of his life, Susan Stone on June 23, 1984. Together they raised three children, settling in Wichita. Kent was a kind, gentle person who always thought of others. Though he was a man of few words and he avoided the spotlight, he was always ready to help where ever he could. His favorite way of helping people was sharing the Bibles promises with all he came in contact with. All that knew Kent, knew he was an active fisherman and hunter and likely heard a tale of two. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Mildred Hefty; his father, Paul and his mother, Laura. He is survived by his wife, Susan Foley; children, Ryan Foley and his wife, Annie, James Foley and his fiancee', Tasha, and Stephanie Neufeld and her husband, Brent; 9 grandchildren, Jordyn, Makenna, Colton, Ethan, Gabby, Jacob, Rylie, Jasmine, and Mersadies; 3 siblings, Kevin Foley, Rhonda and Ray Mitchell, Rex and Linda Foley. He is resting safely in Jehovah's memory, waiting for the coming resurrection to paradise here on earth (John 5:28,29: Acts 24:15). Memorial services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2700 S. Richmond, Wichita. Services are under the care of Baker Funeral Home.

All our Love to you Dear Sister

To the Foley Family- my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I can hardly believe this. I have worked with Kent on his advertising for the last 9yrs or so, only seeing him once or twice a year. But I Always enjoyed him as a person, his great outlook and sense of humor and looked forward to our visits. He once, years ago, responded to a pest control issue for me on a Friday around 6pm. I returned home from being out of town to a stench in my house and i needed to get to the bottom of it. He searched the house for 45 minutes or so and ended up in my crawl space only to find a deceased kitty -he went above an beyond to help with little notice. I never forgot that - nor will i ever forget him. Rest in Peace my friend.
